Blade licks his lips. “Alpha…”
And suddenly Dan Heng’s body kicks into gear. He takes a step closer, then another. His blood rushes in his ears. Before he knows it, he’s at the bedside, gazing down at the man with distress flooding through his system.
It doesn’t matter who it is. Someone is in pain. Pain so strong it makes his senseless nose burn and his closed-off heart ache. It doesn’t matter that it’s Blade. His enemy, his constant shadow in this life and the last. He has to help him.
It also doesn’t hurt that his basest instincts are telling him that he has to stop the omega’s pain. That he was made for this.
or; Dan Heng catches an alluring scent, a heat curling in the air that his body distantly remembers... and finds another body, scarred but still the same, open for him.

Summary
It's then that Wise gets his wires crossed, distracted as he is by petting Inky while running on low sleep due to his insomnia. Instead of saying "thank you" like a normal person would, when he takes the pouch from Lighter's hand, he ends up saying,
"Good boy."
Lighter freezes.
Wise blinks, eyeing the sudden pause.
Then he thinks.
And—
"Oh," he stammers, flustered. "I didn't mean—sorry, I got distracted petting Inky. I meant 'thank you', not…not that."
Wise and Lighter hang out after watching a film together in Wise's room. Shenanigans ensue.

One by one, they go through the long list of items, each selling for exorbitantly high prices.
The auction drags on for a long time, and Blade starts to get antsy by the two hour mark. Most of the items have been sold by now and he still has no idea what it is that Elio wants for him to take.
He seems to be the only one who doesn’t know about it too as people start getting fidgety with excitement the closer to the end they get.

Summary
He thinks it's more concerning that he has begun memorizing his patterns. How he walks and how he breathes. Maybe it isn't memorizing at all, but recognizing. Rue only fills him for a short moment where he imagines the pain he might've caused in a past he cannot account for.
But grudges are either boyish or a deep wound not having found a proper ointment. Dan Heng's suffering will not change Blade.
