Year after year of being thrown into life-threatening danger at Hogwarts while surrounded by people who can’t decide whether they love or hate him only to be shunted off to the Dursleys –who certainly aren’t shy about how much they hate him– every summer?

But they’re friends. Best friends. And Buck doesn’t want to ruin that. He’s always wanted someone to see him as home, and the chances of that someone being Eddie, they’re kind of driving him over the ledge.
He doesn’t think he can swallow his feelings, though. They’re too big, too overwhelming. But he can’t just impulsively put them out there, either, because he’s terrified of ever having to take them back.
No, no, what he needs is a plan. To make Eddie see that Buck is an option. And that’s exactly what he’s gonna do. He’s gonna woo Eddie.
