“Well,” Glinda sighed, gesturing to Elphaba, “Where are your wings?”
Elphaba looked down, the power she’d felt moments earlier dissipating like smoke.
“Maybe you’re not as powerful as you think you are,” Glinda said, voice breaking with some emotion Elphaba could not identify even as the words stabbed at Elphaba’s most sensitive spots.
‘Stop your useless jabbering.’
The voice of her father echoed in her head. Was that all her chanting really was? Glinda seemed to think so, even after professing her supposed belief in Elphaba earlier that day.
Maybe her father was right. Maybe Elphaba’s powers were useless except to cause pain and destruction.
Elphaba shut her eyes as memories of her inadequacies, of all the people she'd let down, filled her thoughts...
Then, a whimper.

It's already been a terrible day too, and she never thought it could any worse. But Elphaba knows, deep in her heart, what is going to happen. There's no time to prevent it, even if her mind was thinking fast enough. Fiyero is too close. His aim is steady. His time in the Gale Force has taught him to be a weapon against the Wizard’s enemies. But he has never been a killer. Not until today, when he’s stressed from trying to figure out how to keep them all safe and his palms are sweaty and his finger slips.
The bullet launches itself from the barrel of his gun, embedding itself in Glinda's chest.
Or: while trying to protect Elphaba, Fiyero accidentally pulls the trigger. As they flee to Kiamo Ko with an injured Glinda in tow, Elphaba and Fiyero have to find a way to heal her and protect her from her enemies. And in the process, they need to set the record straight on a few things.

No one ever told you how hard it was to be sexy during a Washington winter, especially not Fifty Shades of Grey, which Lance often felt like the star of. And, all right, in all fairness, Keith wasn’t Christian Grey levels of wealthy, and he didn’t have any secret sex rooms, and Lance was not with him because he’d signed his ass over to a repressed BDSM god.
Don’t get Lance wrong. Keith was definitely a repressed rich boy. It was just that he was Mr. Grey’s inverse: the type of repressed rich boy you had to beg to spank you and even then there was no telling if he’d have to leave the room afterwards because he felt so torn up with guilt at having to hurt you. Which he didn’t. Or, well, he did, but Lance liked it. Enough to ask for it, anyway.

“When did you-” Keith mutters under his breath before trailing off, eyebrows furrowed together. He looks properly puzzled, eyes flicking between the pickpocketed card and Lance’s face, something caught between disappointment and pride shining in those dark irises of his. “I think I need to stop letting you hang out with criminals, angel. They’re corrupting you.”
“Maybe I’m corrupting them.” Lance counters with an indifferent shrug, reaching down to wind his fingers through Keith’s hair. He pulls him in closer to his body, until Keith’s cheek is resting against his inner thigh and Lance can feel each puff of warm breath between his legs.

So now he’s stuck living in a cave with an adolescent, grumpy dragon who doesn’t seem to want him there but still won’t let him go. Not to mention his annoying habit of defeating every suitor who tries to come rescue Lance.
As much as he hates to admit it, he’s probably going to be here for a while. So he might as well settle in and get to know this dragon named Keith.
