Summary
To even question the idea of Gojo’s loyalty feels cruel and incredibly wrong. If someone were to ask any one of the students who had been taken under Gojo’s wing about the kind of person they view their mentor to be, each one would agree that if Gojo was nothing else, he was principled. An idiot at times, sure. But a principled one. To partake in the idea that he would suddenly forgo those principles in the aftermath of his unsealing feels like a curse.
But what if he did?

Summary
Megumi used to believe that he and Gojo were different, that the gap between the person he and Megumi used to be was much too large for them to ever be closer than they were.
But here, standing beside the casket that the once great and powerful Satoru Gojo currently resides in, Megumi supposes that maybe they weren’t so different after all. He used to believe that the words Gojo and death should never have been used in the same sentence, not because it was a scary thought, but because it just seemed so impossible.
It doesn’t seem so impossible now.

Summary
It’s easy to revel in the current state of his life like this— a stable income, a roof over his head, a warm bed to sleep in, a beautiful wife to come back to. If Gojo were still around, he would probably tease Megumi for being able to get his life together so fast. But in truth, it wasn’t Megumi who did this, really. Life just seems to keep bringing him good things for some reason, though it has given him just as many that are bad.
So for that, part of him thinks Gojo would be proud. He’d be bewildered that Megumi decided to get married so young, and especially at the fact that he actually allowed himself to settle down with someone, but he’d be proud. At least, Megumi hopes he would be.
This is a luxury that Gojo never got to have, and Megumi isn’t sure it’s even one that he wanted. For that alone, Megumi supposes it is unfair to be anything other than grateful for all he has. Some people didn’t get this luxury.

It is a strange fact that Megumi has slowly discovered over the course of the past several months, with Jujutsu Tech currently and seemingly run over with lost children that Itadori and a few others have brought to the grounds. It wasn’t that they were meaning to do it, but the missions in Tokyo have led to more than one child-rescuing side quest and nowhere for the little gremlins to go back home to.

Perhaps it’s just an effect of the kind teenage boy still living deep inside him— the one Satoru always seems to do everything he can to protect despite the hurt it causes.
Suguru can barely remember the boy’s face, though it is nothing but a younger mirror of his own. Some days, he swears that boy is no longer there. Satoru, however, seems to think he never left.
