Summary
There wasn't much of a difference between being David Mitchell, Nevada Central University’s underpaid asocial professor and Doc, the criminal organisation’s mastermind. Despite the polar opposite lifestyles, his two sides were driven by the thing in the end: curiosity. The gods knew David hated them for what they did, knowing he won't manage to outsmart them again just based on his knowledge from the Status Quo operation that ended way too early for his liking.
When the A.A.H.W. approaches him in the middle of the night with an absurd offer to lead the research that could allow once again going against the vital rules of Nevada and actually stay alive doing so, how can he say no?

Summary
Sanford is badly coping with the sudden loss of him team right after they defeated the Auditor. The new government in Nevada is going to claim his team's former base for itself if he doesn't start helping them rebuilt the state from the ashes. Desperate and alone, he strikes a plus/plus deal with a bunch of young A.A.H.W. clones to live in the base in exchange for their protection.
In short, Sanford deals with the aftermath of the madness and adopts some clones in the process. The Sheriff tries to reorganize the MERC to be more lawful and regrets his choices.

It’s scarce work, clients are fickle and tend not to be patient, they’ll drop him for someone with better availability if he lags on a project. He picks through offers, grabs the short and easy stuff and gets single digit payments for transcribing videos, correcting software patches, helping some kid on the other side of the planet with their math homework.
