    Danny hears about a suspicious character lurking around Gotham and decides to befriend him. Jason has no thoughts on the matter — mostly, he has a lot of empty-head green-tinged rage on the matter.

    This is less of a roadblock than one might expect. Danny thinks he might even be able to help the guy, if he can form enough of a relationship to bring up sensitive topics like "you have the ghostly equivalent of lead poisoning or maybe rabies, we aren't quite sure".

    Danny's death was something he had no choice but to think about.

    Having a portal to the afterlife open on top of you at age 14, both killing you and bringing you back to life was hard to ignore. He died and came back weird, with a pounding headache and an ache in his chest.

    After getting caught by his parents and getting cut open the summer before college, Danny flees to Gotham.

    No idea of what or who is waiting for him there. Or what will follow him to Gotham.

    Jason was 15 and running around as the second Robin. His death was on the same day that a portal in an Amity Park basement opened, killed by being beaten by the Joker and left to die in an explosion. He came back 6 months later, mindless and wrong.

    Later, he'd get back his mind, but the pits still swirled in his chest.

    Now the Red Hood at 19, Jason feels like something's coming, something dangerous.

    The pits shift at the thought.

    This can't be good.

    The Bat Family couldn’t stop a group of cultists from completing their ritual to summon the King of the Infinite Realms. However, to their surprise, only a tiny will-o’-the-wisp appears instead.

    Or Danny is terribly hurt after getting captured by GIW. He escapes only to be summoned by cultists in Gotham. After going so long without proper rest, he is stuck in a tiny ghost form. He now finds himself in the care of a group of vigilantes.

    Danny thought that after 8 years he finally had the hang of being High King of the Infinite Realms, but after an Observant brought to his attention yet another urgent matter for him to solve, he was not so sure anymore.
    Cue Danny in full gremling mode cruising through tearing down every Lazarus Pit in existence and meeting some new people along the way.
    In full Danny Phantom luck, something goes completely side-ways and he finds himself with an unexpected surprise and a whole lot more of responsibility.
