Summary
NOTE: You don't need to know Young Americans to understand the story. Jake and Hamilton can just be considered OCs.
Short version: Damon has a human doppelganger and his name is Hamilton Fleming (a character played by very young Ian in 'Young Americans' waaaaay back in 2000) so the timeline of 'Young Americans' is pushed forward by ten years to coincide with TVD.
Long version: 15 year old Hamilton Fleming ends up doing his first semester of freshman year at Mystic Falls high. Of course, this means that Jake Pratt hacked her way into the system and will be joining Hamilton at Mystic Falls High too. Being new kids and misfits, they both end up befriending a boy named Jeremy Gilbert, which eventually leads to a lot of supernatural discoveries. One of the strangest though, even before they find out about vampires, is the fact that Hamilton looks almost exactly like a man named Damon Salvatore, except Ham is about 9ish years younger, at least physically. Turns out that Elena Gilbert isn’t the only one with a freaky inexplicable doppelganger effect. Will Hamilton survive being Damon’s doppelganger in TVD season 1? -

Summary

So far there's just mostly a POV prologue about a young Ratigan before meeting Corvid in the early chapters of Rear Guard, and then a sort of epilogue POV adventure almost a few years after the end of Rear Guard when Ratigan is quite old and ready to pass on the torch.Series

Summary
When Damon and Bonnie are the last two beings on the other side and hold hands as it collapses, the witches decide to make a last second change before she can bring a vampire with her while being resurrected into the prison world that Grams 'banished' her into. So... Bonnie finds herself trapped in the 1994 prison world with a very different Damon.
Everything else that was occurring in the real world during the time that Damon and Bonnie are in the prison world basically happens the same until they escape. -

Summary
Damon and Enzo both escape Augustine together, and now they find themselves free to live a new life in this bromance (nope not slash, but definitely some angsty bromance) alteration of history. The boys then have some misadventures, starting with an unpleasant encounter with Mikael, and Enzo tries to reunite with Maggie.
Story has lots of violence and some suggestive sexual situations but fits somewhere between T or M rating and is M mostly because of violence and the nature of Damon's indiscretions and he has a lot of raging issues and it starts off at the flashback scene where Damon escapes Augustine, so yeah, it's violent.
