He heard the rapid steps approaching them from one side and security from the other. Even in the commotion, he tried to cover Will’s frail body from the threat, his arms finding their place enveloped around him tight as he chanted his friend’s name, who was still violently spasming. He didn’t even want to look, far too scared to face the same monsters El had ended with a year ago.
