Summary
In a society where hybrids were either fancy pets or alleycats, Seonghwa knew he enjoyed many privileges as a pedigree indoor cat and that the discrimination he faced was nothing compared to what stray catpeople went through. These invisible and forgotten cats would probably give everything they have to get just a mere fraction of the perks he got, but he couldn’t help but think that he’d also give everything he has just to enjoy their apparent freedom just once.
He still felt the slight pang of jealousy as he stared at the clowder of catboys playing in the park, excited screams and meows traveling all the way to the car. Seonghwa had never had the chance to interact with strays before, but they always looked so ...happy and carefree. He yearned to know what that felt like.
He snapped out of his longing daydreams when his attention was momentarily drawn to one of the cats laying on the grass - an orange tabby who was already staring at him by the time their eyes met, intense gaze piercing through him.

Summary
Hongjoong had peace of mind working at the library. It was his solace and even on his rough days, he wouldn't trade it for the world. Some days, however, the stress did get to him and he would resort to his hidden lifestyle. He wouldn't necessarily say he lived a double life, but being a well-known dominant of a BDSM club that also taught dom classes was quite a change from being a librarian. Unbeknownst to him, his two worlds collide when a man rushed into his shop one day asking for a certain BDSM book who was the same man that scurried into one of his dom lessons that same night. From then on, Hongjoong found himself living his own fairytale, like a book with fate written within the lines of his story.

Uncontrollable sobs wracked his frame, his body and mind aching. He wasn’t even sure why he was so upset at this point, his body moving on autopilot as he clumsily made a small nest. He crawled into the middle, feeling absolutely miserable as he scratched more red lines in his arms in an attempt to get rid of the awful feeling lurking under his skin.

He waited for the pain to consume him - at least something - even if that was the only emotion he could get. Just anything to make sure he was still alive. But he was like a little worthless bug. His body was still in the room, but his mind was no longer there. He still had some empathy inside, but at the same time, he couldn’t care anymore. Like he was a broken item. Past repair.
Like he had failed.
Seonghwa was falling into an endless darkness. Dropping. He was underwater, at the bottom. Where there was no longer faith left. No longer feelings existed. Why could he no longer move?
Or Seonghwa falls into pre-heat while his mate is away and drops. Thankfully he has two best friends who can make him feel like nothing is lost
