The knocking comes again, and he yells a "Coming, coming!"
Ashveil opens the door, and is met with a spiking scent of distress—stormy winds, crackling lightning, something tangy. It explodes in its intensity. He grips the doorknob tighter; he doesn't remember the last time he smelled a secondary scent so strongly.
If even his weathered, dulled senses are picking up on it, then whatever it is must be serious.
Or; Ashveil has given up trying to find someone to spend his life with—his scent has all but faded already, anyway. He's perfectly content with passing his days in his small, self-operated local help agency and surviving on takeout.
That is, until a stressed, alpha father rushes in one day, worried about his missing pup.

Summary
3 years after escaping the circus Jax finally decided to go back to the place where he came back to the real world and maybe fully come to terms with what happened to him. After settling in he decides to help out with the set for an elementary schools theater production. One of the girls who helps with the production helps get him started. But little does he know that she may be more familiar than he knows and what will she do as she starts to suspect who he his?
Or: Jax and Pomni unknowingly reunite after 3 years but Jax has reverted to who he was pre-circus (for the most part) who is very different from the playful trickster.
