Summary
He waited for Kaveh to present him the books they needed to analyze in-depth and sat quietly across from him at the table. Alhaitham smiled as soon as he read the title “Critical Thinking for Architecture Students.” A tome Kaveh would one day annotate from beginning to end with a proud gleam in his eyes.
“Before I start on this, I want you to have a look.” Kaveh pointed at Alhaitham’s book. “You’re a fast reader so I expect tomorrow is my turn.”
“Of course.”
Before he could decipher the exit to this memory or alternate universe, he had to play along. He opened the yet to be filled with blocks of handwriting tome and gently turned page after page.
“Alhaitham, I figured it out.” Kaveh said and chuckled.
“What?”

All that only to be trapped under an oath sworn by the gods that were anything to happen to Scaramouche, they would sacrifice their lives for him. Because he was not just worth the jewels and rubies they brought, but more.
Scaramouche was worth their lives.
Kazuha grows up believing love and freedom can never co-exist. That is until he meets Scaramouche and realizes the two have always been intertwined.

Summary
Kaveh ends up confessing to Alhaitham during a big fight before the architect leaves for a longterm desert project. Kaveh then meets an accident and is officially proclaimed dead by the Matra.
Two years later, the Traveler claims Kaveh is seen alive, in Fontaine, seemingly without a memory of who he is, living an entirely different life.
