“Ah- sorry, I was looking for a Mr. Phoenix Wright.”
His eyes widened, heart skipping a beat as he recognized the voice that reached into his bedroom. No, no it couldn’t be, did his daughter open the door-?! In a flash, he burst out of his room, nearly tripping again in his gentle panic to get into the living room, instincts screaming danger.
But as he stood in the entry, his brown and blue mixmatched eyes locking with a pair of soft, grayish purple, he would feel oddly.. safer.
And then the guilt came crashing down. When was the last time he had called? Opened a letter from the man instead of shamefully ignoring them? He didn’t know, he had no idea the hell Phoenix had been through- at least that’s what he figured, after all he did so hard to keep it from him, he didn’t want to be a failure to Edgeworth, he didn’t want-

Summary
Rainflower, a queen that had just lost her litter the night before, wanders through the forest alone late at night to try and talk to Starclan, pleading to know why they had snatched her kits away from her so soon, begging for them to give her something of her kits back. Almost immediately after, she hears whimpering, something that smells like a kit. She takes it back to her clan to get it help, not noticing the muzzle that's a bit too long, the tail too short, and the underlying scent that was so very much NOT a kit under the heavy scent of sickness.
Follow Finch on his journey through growing up as a dog in a cat's world within the clans, desperate to earn his place in a world not built for him with his found-family's help.
