Eddie yanks his briefs off, raising an eyebrow at Buck who proceeds to stare at his dick. Eddie gives him a moment. And then another. And then—
“Well it’s weird now,” Eddie says pointedly, and Buck’s eyes widen but remain locked onto their current target. “Dude, seriously?”
“Shit,” Buck swears, averting his eyes immediately. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to—”
“It’s fine,” Eddie says, vaguely amused now. “But fair’s fair.” Buck’s eyes snap to his, and Eddie nods towards Buck’s briefs. “Take ‘em off.”
“You’re just gonna—”
Eddie shrugs. “You started it.”
“I—” Buck chokes on his words. “You know what? Sure, whatever.” A little quieter, Buck mutters, “This is fine; perfectly normal behaviour between two best friends.”

The child, too small to understand the gift he had been given, looked back at it without a hint of fear or disdain. He was too young yet to feel otherness, too pure of heart. Perhaps with the Water’s help, he never would.
It watched the man and the woman return to their mortal land with the boy, and it wondered what they would make of its trickery.
After all, it hadn’t lied. It had promised one of their sons would grow to be strong and sure, and that another would be left to chance.
It simply hadn’t told them which son.

When Buck's parents try to exchange him for Daniel's health, they're hit with unforeseen circumstances. 5 times Eddie tries to get Buck to open up and tell him the truth, and the one time Buck actually does.

Summary
This summer has had some subversive effects on his very definition of what it means to want.
He’s always been good at not wanting too much or too recklessly. But these days, it seems like he’s insatiable, wrought with hunger and pillaging to consume.
Maybe it's because this kind of wanting feels offensive—something he thought he’d snuffed out decades ago, made benign.
He’s always been so good at beating it down, down, down into submission whenever it reared its ugly head; he had a handle on it.
Now, it’s all gone to shit.
or; Buck and Eddie have sex, Eddie freaks out. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Summary
“You’re a liar, Buckley,” he says. Buck just stares at him. He looks gorgeous.
“What? Why?”
“This was nothing like kissing a woman. This was nothing like kissing anyone else,” Eddie argues, and he almost sounds mad about it. He avoids his eyes, and then he gets up from the couch so suddenly that Buck feels like someone dumped a bucket of ice cold water on him.
