Summary
Every step he felt the fear to go forward, yet a powerful tide that pulled him to her, down to the harbor. Down the dunes, onto the beach. His feet moved on principle, on duty, on love. There was something ancient in the way she tugged him forward. Always pushing him to be better, greater, accepting every existing piece of him, and every change he sprouted. Gilbert felt the need to do the same, even if she didn’t accept it. Even if she told him to leave.
Or, Anne and Gilbert find their way back to each other after the loss of their first daughter, Joy.

IN WHICH,
Anne Shirley’s parents Bertha and Walter Shirley have passed away after living in Avonlea for two years. Anne can’t bare to live in the Shirley household further on, the Cuthbert’s are too old to take her in so the Lacroix plus Gilbert take a grieving Anne in. She learns to accept her grief and begins to heal as time moves on. Living with Gilbert sparks some tension and their school rivalry and friendship has them questioning if they’re even friends… or more.
OR:
Alternate Universe where Anne’s parents live until she’s fifteen (and a half) and then die of fever and then the Lacroix’s plus Gilbert take her in. (Also Mary lives because I say so.)

Gilbert is captain of the ice hockey team.
Anne has been infamously photographing him during the summer for a school assignment.
Everyone knows this.They also know three other things:
Anne has no photos of Gilbert to explain all the time they spent together;
Gilbert has banned dating during the hockey season;
And season starts next week.------
"You are so horny when you're winning," Anne muses, shaking her head.
"Says the one who was making out with some guy for three hours this morning," Gilbert mutters, head bent to his laptop.
Anne scoffs a laugh. "That comeback doesn't work when you were the 'some guy' I was making out with."
Gilbert mimicks her in a high pitched voice, still typing at his keyboard.
