“I think you’ve helped enough.” Michael snarled. “Just leave me alone, I’m—”
Pain, sharp as a knife, sliced through his abdomen, and it bent Michael in half as he cried out. Heat rushed through his blood, and his heart pounded like a hammer in his head. The stress of the last few days, and the sudden onslaught of alpha pheromones, was making his body go into an early heat.
After being saddled with his father's debt, Michael tries to end it all. But an unlikely person rushes in to save him.

The air in Reo’s lungs vanished. “No…she wouldn’t.”
Her mother was notorious for throwing money at something until it went away. And why not? She had plenty of it to spare. Flashes of the last month filled Reo’s mind. Every stolen kiss, every touch, every promise whispered under the bed sheets. They were only just starting to figure out their feelings for each other, Nagi wouldn’t abandon it so easily. Nagi wouldn’t abandon her. Would she?
Except Reo hadn’t spoken to Nagi in over a week, not since Reo had told her that they needed to spend some time apart until things calmed down. Maybe Nagi thought that Reo had already given up.
Takako brushed a hair behind Reo’s ear. “Come along, dear. Let’s not be rude to your guests. They’re all here to celebrate your birthday."
