Taking in a clutch of Nadder Natchings, the Riders expected dealing with an onslaught of stray spines, fire, and squwaks that kept them up through the night.
What they didn't expect, was for one little hatchling to remind them so strongly of their leader.
It all unravelled from there.

Originally posted to Tumblr and written for AngstFest 2023 with the prompts No One Knows AU and Everyone Knows AU.
His friends aren't sure how much longer they can keep this a secret. Every time a ghost appears, Danny dies again. And every time Danny dies, they bring him back.
It doesn't help that no matter how much they try to explain to Danny what's happening, the truth never sticks.
