Rose’s fingers froze against her glass. She studied Shane’s face. Watching the furrow between his brows, the way his jaw tensed like he was bracing for impact. He genuinely didn’t know. The realization hit her then. “Shane,” she said slowly, “you seriously don’t see it?”

It’s not the way he meant it, but if Hollander takes so much fucking offense on the (not even intentional) implication that there’s something more than rivalry going on between him and Rozanov… so be it. Scott isn’t here to coddle some homophobic crybaby.
Scott straightens, squares his shoulders, pulls on all of height, his strength, his anger.

Scott texts Kip that he’s bringing Shane back to the apartment. “Hey, I kind of have a big favor to ask you and I need you to be supportive about it.”
Kip replies almost immediately, “That sounds ominous, is everything okay?”
“I don’t know,” Scott decides to be honest, “You know how I’m shooting that commercial with Shane Hollander today?”
“Yes…” He can practically feel Kip’s anxiety leaking into that one text.
