In the corner of his eye, Hyunjin saw Chan move as he stood up. He was offering a hand and Hyunjin didn’t know why he took it. None of this made sense to him. Just like Chan didn’t make sense to him.
He’d spent so much time in this tiny cell that he had never even considered the idea of escaping. And still, when he looked at the stranger's kind eyes he believed them.
“Out there,” Chan said, “my pack is waiting for me.”
“Your pack?”
The ghost of a smile grazed the stranger’s features as he looked at Hyunjin. “When we get out of here, you should join us.”
