Ilya moved and rested next to him, Shane leaned over and curled in on his side, moving the weighted blanket over his hips, to rest his head on Ilya’s thigh. He closed his eyes as he heard the video start.They both listened to the male voice from the UK start talking. Ilya immediately knew why Shane had run. He wrapped his arm around and under Shane’s arm, pressing his flat palm to his chest while he held the phone with his other hand. Shane pressed his hands over his and held him there. As the man kept talking, he felt Shane start to cry, his chest sobbing. He couldn’t make it more than five minutes in; he paused it and ran his now-free hand through Shane’s hair.
Through tears his words came out in a torrent “Am I the weird one? Everyone always talks about how antisocial I am and makes jokes about how I don’t go out with people and I like to stay home and read. I am always boring and eat weird food and have such a strict focus on hockey and have all these rules and I make people follow them…” He was starting to struggle to take in a breath.

Summary
Shane Hollander gets rushed off the ice and to the hospital when he’s injured in the middle of a game. The concussion and broken collarbone were bad enough, but the mysterious spot that showed up on his x-ray was much scarier.
He knows the relationship between him and Ilya Rozanov needs to stay a secret, but Shane can’t resist calling him from the hospital. He’s surprised by the concern in Ilya’s voice, and even more surprised to find him at his bedside when he wakes up the next morning.
