Summary
The air smelled like blood and metal and rot, the stench powerful enough to work its way through the filters of the expedition team's respirators, but the stink was not as bad as the sound, a near sub-audible vibration that lay behind the walls and nestled in the vents and wires. That vibration worked its way under the skin of the expedition team and shattered the resolve of half of them like a jackhammer against concrete. They peeled off the main group and made for the exit a mile above where the rear guard waited in the frozen dark, subsisting on a newly claimed cache of six-year-old coffee and spite. The remaining three continued on, with the sound of their boots echoing off the walls.
Ignis searches for a way to save his king's life and is drawn to the long-sealed Magitek Research Facility A019. He explores its secret depths and finds a stranger who promises him everything. Meanwhile, an unscheduled train arrives in Insomnia bringing a group of otherworldly travelers to the haunted, sleepless city.

Summary
Sora reached out to wake Goofy and break the silence when the computer beat him to it with a cheerful series of beeps. Goofy stirred and stretched. "There already, hya?" Sora retracted his hand and looked out the window at the object coming into view. "I guess so," he answered and watched the world come closer. It seemed to hang in the deserted space like a swollen fruit, alone on some decrepit vine where it rotted without falling to earth.
In which Sora and Goofy explore an uncharted planet and sit down for a pleasant spot of tea with an old storyteller and absolutely nothing terrible happens to anyone.

Summary
Something grabbed his coat and yanked him back hard enough that his chin slammed into his breastbone. He twisted, kicking wildly as he fell. The heel of his right boot connected with the hobgoblin's lumpy, grinning face. Fingers like malformed sausages clamped down on his leg. Bone cracked. The incoming report of pain, however, was lost in the shuffle. All headlines today read: "Head Injury" and "Impending Doom." Another hobgoblin, this one covered in fishing net woven with human bones, galloped down the boardwalk towards them, hooting lustily. The first half-turned to face the newcomer. Dino's short-circuiting brain broadcast a story he'd heard as a child, about two women who both laid claim to a baby, and a king whose solution to their problem was to cut the kid in half.
In which Dino is cornered by daemons and tries to save himself and Coctura while the lights at the edge of the sea are drowned by the ever encroaching darkness.

Summary
Massive floodlights at the rear of the main cavern illuminated a half-gutted ruin. Ancient stone brickwork and sunken, collapsed halls. Holes that marked uncovered corridors riddled the back wall. Ruined buildings that had stood forgotten in the cave for eons huddled before the darkened passages like gatekeepers; the Empire had appropriated many of these for their own purposes. The main generator sat in the center of the space, modified for underground use. Cables snaked away from the infernal pylon into nearby buildings and the excavated ruin. Somewhere far above was the cavern ceiling, but none of the lights below reached it, giving the impression of starless, eternal night.
The Bros are intent on doing as much damage to the Empire as they can, but the subterranean complex north of the Slough is an Imperial Base best left unbusted. A fight through a hoard of experimental MTs is just the opening act. An unknown horror, dredged out of the darkened ruins by Imperial hands, awaits an opportunity to deliver devastation upon any unfortunate enough to cross it. Ignis will keep Noctis safe regardless of the cost, but all of them must deal with the consequences.

Summary
Eddie Dean stood shirtless in the center of a dingy room at the cheapest motel in whatever-the-fuck-town they'd wound up in. He focused his eyes on the little dot marked on the wall, just below a dent in the peeling wallpaper, and took a few deep breaths of stale air that tasted like old cigarettes. He'd stayed in worse places. Getting to sleep in a proper bed and avail himself of a proper shower was a rare treat these days. This treat had been paid for by a kind donation from Balazar's men back in West Virginia. Not Gentlemen, they might not even have known the late Enrico Balazar, but Eddie thought of all the guys that came after them from New York as Balazar's. As far as he could figure, Balazar's violent demise created some kind of power vacuum, and Eddie's head had become a invaluable prize to the people trying to fill it.
In which Eddie and Roland were stranded on the wrong side of the door after the shootout at The Leaning Tower, but are doing their best to make it work.

Summary
A group of stories related to and including "Black Flan" that started with the question "If Ignis were a daemon, what sort of daemon would be be?" and grew from there. It started with "The Alstor Excavation" an open-ended one-shot that was meant to be a simple horror piece for Halloween of 2020, and followed by "On Daemons and Desserts" as a sweet little chaser to wash away the taste of misery (and daemon).
I was encouraged to continue the story, so I posted an updated version of "The Alstor Excavation" and left the original as-is. "Black Flan" is the main fic, and you don't have to read any of the others to follow it (least of all "The Alstor Excavation" as those events are covered in "Black Flan")

Bookmarker's Notes
I did not think that I could ever really buy into Eddie/Roland, but this beautiful, deeply sweet work sells it for a lot less than $9.99. scioscribe is a stylistic chameleon, and perfectly captures both the voice of the characters and the narration of the books.
