The blank page is her stage and her canvas. Sometimes, it feels like a prison, too. The medium is constricting. The deadlines are always tight, and she’s always tired. Sometimes, Fujino feels like a bird in a cage, and this is the only song she knows how to sing.
And maybe a part of that will never go away.
She’s a manga artist. It’s not like Fujino can impress her readers by showing off her martial arts skills, and maybe that’s okay, too. All that's ever mattered is her audience of one. If Fujino can make Kyomoto laugh with her stories, if she can move her so much that she cries, that’s good enough for her.
