Summary
The first time Kate saw the dress, they were about to go on an undercover mission.
Texas Cinderella poker queen Lucy had been required again to bust a series of underground poker games after a navy lieutenant went missing at one of them; and since things went sideways last time Lucy went to a poker game alone, this time Tennant had decided she would bring her 'bodyguards,' Kate and Kai. While Lucy had helped both of them pick out the perfect nondescript but still suitably fashionable suits, she had refused to let Kate see the dress she ordered, hiding it in the back of the closet and calling it ‘a surprise.’
When Lucy emerged from the NCIS bathroom, Kate got what the whole surprise thing had been about. “Wow,” she breathed. “You look … wow.”
Lucy gets a new dress, and Kate likes it. Kate really likes it.
