Karlach stilled, her grin faltering just a breath before she caught herself. Her wild heart thudded beneath the metal of her chest, venting a quiet hiss of heat that curled between them like a sigh. The line between teasing and tenderness blurred for just a heartbeat—but then her grin returned, bright and irreverent, as warm as the furnace inside her.
She leaned forward, lowering herself to eye level, their faces now only inches apart. Her voice was a low rumble, playfully rough around the edges. “Are you offering to touch me, Minthy?”
