Based on I Love You First —the original version from The Short Story Journeys that I wrote as a published physical book of mine.
Yeonjun has spent a lifetime falling for Soobin, but he’s been stuck in the friendzone ever since a misguided confession went ignored. Now, he’s forced to watch from the sidelines as Soobin pines after the one person Yeonjun can't compete with: his own sister.
In a desperate bid to stay close—or perhaps just to endure the agony of being near him—Yeonjun takes on the role of Soobin’s personal cupid. It’s a torture of his own design. Every time Soobin’s eyes light up while talking about someone else, Yeonjun feels his own heart fracture, yet he can’t look away.
He tells himself he hates Soobin for his infuriating blindness, but the truth is a dangerous, beating thing he can’t silence. Yeonjun would wait a thousand years if it meant Soobin might one day stop looking past him and finally see everything that’s been standing right in front of him all along.
