While Mike is struggling with his internalized homophobia and the realisation of his feelings for Will, he is dealing with self-acceptance. From both pov’s.
Will is having some help around him with Jonathan. Mike is just facing his father's homophobia while being in a toxic relationship with El, but he can count on his sister to help him figure out some things.
