I've recently been unexpectedly promoted to lead a department in my organisation, wrote the anonymous emailer.
As there was no one working here when I arrived, my manager, who is head of the organisation, had promised me the choice of my own assistants. However, without warning, he simply presented me with an additional assistant. This new assistant’s first act on his first day was to let a dog into the office. It took several hours to catch and clean up after this dog and it has only been downhill from there. I admit I'm not entirely sure what to do with this assistant now I'm stuck with him. I'm hoping you have some advice?

Summary

Summary
The boy behind the mask did not exist. He was nothing but a shell, a pawn to be used in a cruel man’s dangerous game. That was the only reason he was alive, the only reason he was allowed to take up space in a world that otherwise would refuse him, discarding him as if he were nothing more than a broken toy. The boy behind the mask was not worth anyone’s attention, worth anyone’s love, and he had been conditioned to believe that as fact since the day he was born.
And yet it wasn’t true. Despite all odds, there would always be at least one person in the world who considered him more than deserving of their love, whose heart he had burrowed himself so far into that it would be impossible to disentangle himself. No matter how long it took, how difficult of a task it would be, Darius would make sure to change his mind because even if no one else in the world loved him, Darius would. That was the only fact Hunter needed to believe.

Summary
Within the woods, Darius can finally hear a loud rustling getting closer and rapidly approaching their location. Eberwolf shifts, sharp teeth outgrowing their mouth and sticking out in different directions. Darius morphs one of his arms into a sickle, keeping it at the ready in case of a fight.
The moment it finally bursts from the trees and into their clearing, they’re all ready to strike. The unknown variable however, trips over a stray root just before and ends up stumbling and falling to the ground. Darius catches sight of an all too familiar yellow outfit with blonde hair and immediately reverses his transformation. His hand shoots out— warning Raine and Eberwolf not to strike— and they both freeze in place.
The Golden Guard lays before them, shaking violently and struggling to so much as sit up with how badly his arms tremble. However upon realizing he’s not alone, he nearly throws himself on his back and scrambles, head wildly snapping to each and every one of them. His eyes are filled with absolute terror and it pains Darius to see it.
(Or, Post-Hollow Mind, Darius, Raine, and Eberwolf find Hunter in the woods. They deal with the aftermath of Hunter finding out the truth about his so-called uncle.)
