Than’s mouth went dry watching Zag squirm, brows knit together and mouth hanging open, letting out little gasps with every thrust of his fingers. He waited a little longer, mesmerized by the sight of his prince: the man to whom he pledged fealty, whose father he served eternally, whom he had gifted his beloved Mort so that Than could protect him whenever Zag had need of him. Now his laurels had fallen off onto the pillow, his hair sticking up in all directions, his neck peppered with love bites, and his skin covered in a sheen of sweat as Than worked him open. Utterly undone, he was beautiful beyond words, beyond anything Than could have imagined in his years and years of lonely nights. The way Zagreus stared at him now, as though he were the only thing keeping Zag tethered, the only reason he drew breath—it gave him hope that those nights might be over.
