As gently as he can, Enjin lightly puts his hand on Rudo’s shoulder, but the teen immediately jerks away as if the touch was the most painful thing he’s ever felt. Sometimes, the pain comes to be too much. Too sharp, too loud, too heavy. It balloons until it is all Rudo can think of. It hurts, and Rudo is left to ride the wave by his lonesome.
