After the appearance of quirks, a new mutation arose, one to calm the mayhem that came with the powers. Each person had a soulmate, someone who fitted them perfectly, and the soulmate had the ability to temporarily null their powers, when they wanted.
Bakugo hates the idea of soulmates. No-one but him should have control of his power, control of him. He vows that when he finds his soulmate he’ll cut them off. He’s determined to never let them into his life.
