Summary
This is a one-shot song fic inspired by the song by Florence and the Machine "Heavy in Your Arms." Set in the scene in New Moon where Bella decides to jump off of the cliff. In this her Jumping off the cliff is more explicitly a Suicide attempt rather than her just looking for an adrenaline rush. It also explores what if in those moments of almost dying what if Bella finally found the will to fight, if not for herself then for her Best friend and her father.

"I'm not sure whether to be relieved that I was right or terrified that I was right." She's not lying either. She's a bit of both right now.
"Terrified would be the commonly expected reaction," I say softly. Her face is rigid, she's obviously distressed, confused, overwhelmed. I want to help her, to use my gift to calm her, but equally I want her honesty in this moment. If I have any chance at all at honesty with her, she has to be able to process this at her pace.
"I was sort of hoping I had some kind of injury from banging my head so hard," she tells me, her tone and emotional state bitter and slightly wild. "I don't suppose there's any chance this is a hallucination?"

Summary
After Bella Swan returns from rescuing Edward Cullen in Italy, she finds that her original feelings towards him and her own immortality have shifted. Meeting the Volturi exposed her to a dark and cruel side of vampires she had never witnessed before, leaving her shaken and uncertain. The Cullens, despite their initial gracefulness, are slowly pressuring her to to join their immortal family, reminding her that defying the Volturi and staying human would sign all of their death sentences. But Bella is now terrified of the isolation and danger that immortality entails, and their cold and calculated manipulation only drives her further into the arms of the one person who’s determined to keep her alive no matter what—Jacob Black.
