Shane— according to the tacky name badge on his chest— shifted forward, a hopeful sort of look on his face, and Ilya noticed he had a smattering of freckles across his face that were aggravatingly charming.
"Are you… part of this thing?"
Ilya arched an eyebrow. "Do I look like I need to be part of this thing?"
Shane huffed gently. He leaned back again. "No, but you don't have to be rude about it."
