Summary
(Title is inspired by a lyric from Marino's song Devil in Disguise; A smile so bright, you'd never bat an eye)
The Upper district prided itself on its Hero Committee; All the top heroes, working in tandem with the Committee leaders organizing all their patrols.
But that same committee that advertised their heroes as idols who could protect citizens and inspire the community to help and move forward with the Committee could care less about the grand majority of their great city- specifically all the Lower district’s residents.
Not everybody in Dogwarts had powers, but those who did were often recruited into the Hero Committee, where the officials helped to push those people to the edges of their abilities to protect the Upper district (And supposedly the Lower District, too) and those who kept silent about their powers… they had to push it down around the officials, as any unidentified civilian with powers was known as a threat.
And most of those threats turned to villainy after even one bad encounter with the Committee officials, though some stayed civil for longer than most.

Summary
The Watchers were the Guardian's adversaries- and the ones the Prophecy said they were to destroy;
"Eighteen it takes to fulfill the tome,
Eighteen it takes to become a whole.
Eighteen Guardians- learned in their skill,
Eighteen Guardians- to best the Watcher’s own wills."Now- seventeen of them sat around the table. The time for these Guardians was running low. Forty years they had been trying to best the Watchers- trying to protect the next Guardians from that burden. But they didn’t succeed. The Watchers had already killed one of their members, so that left them with no other choice.
They had to pass it on.

It was the early 2000s, and trouble was brewing. The ever sought-after Guardians had all gone missing, and nobody knew what happened. But the Guardians always had a plan- 18 teenagers- 18 students at the same high school. They all had something to fulfill. They didn’t tell each other. Most of them didn’t even know it themselves.

“Have you made this just to hang out with us?”
“Yeah. But also no. Um… This is still a food harvest for us. I just… I don’t know.” Grian frowned, briefly looking around the sky. “Forget it. This was made just to torture you all. That’s why I was told to make it.”
“Cool…” Mumbo wasn’t sure how to respond to that. Grian did a 180 in a matter of second, seemingly for no reason at all. But, as Scar said before, Grian was a watcher. Creatures that didn’t really know how to feel emotions.
Maybe Mumbo could help Grian figure out how to express himself in a less… chaotic way.

Mumbo is trying to finish what Scar had started in 3rd Life: getting Grian out of watchers’ mindset and let himself express feelings.
