Summary
Amnesiac Durge (Artemis) and Astarion are inexplicably drawn towards each other as though they are connected through past lives or alternate universes. He melts her cold bloodthirsty heart and makes her fall in love with vanilla sex and monogamy. She helps him become more secure in himself and lean into his darker side in bed. Despite their magnetic chemistry, their love feels forbidden as she has dark urges to murder him. Ultimately, she decides to resist her destiny, choosing a path of love instead of fear.
Once she recalls more of her memories, the couple is forced to reckon with her past loves, Orin and Gortash. Astarion ascends as part of his redemption arc and remains sweet and loving to Artemis. This is a wholesome romance with themes of healing and atonement. This story reimagines the romance through the entire game, including the epilogue. Durge is a drow bard, so there are many romantic sonnets.
