Really, he should have known that David was… preoccupied. Usually, David knows when Jack gets home from work and will meet him out in the living room so they can have dinner together- usually leftovers- and bitch about all the weird shit they had to deal with in the twelve-odd hours they’ve spent away from each other. Typical roommate stuff. Jack guesses that David must have been distracted with– yeah, and that’s why he didn’t realize Jack was home, and why he must have thought he was alone in the apartment, and Jack can’t think of anything aside from David when he shuts the door to his room.
Turning in a small circle, Jack rubs his face and groans. “What the fuck,” He mutters to himself, then shakes his arms out and hurries to his dresser. “What the fuck,” He repeats as he pulls his work shirt over his head, slipping into a more comfortable crew neck, and he debates for a long moment whether he should just– should he change out of his jeans? Is that weird? Is it weird that he’s–
