Summary
Jayce wasn’t sure for long he had been down the pit. The days were blending together into a mess of fevered hallucinations, scribbling on the walls, and crying himself to sleep. He had tried to keep track of time at the start, by drawing a line and crossing them over every fifth day, but there were too many to count now.
He felt on edge, like someone was constantly watching him. Keeping track of him, and it wasn’t only those horrific metal creatures that he could hear crawling around somewhere far above him. No, there was another presence there as well sometimes, at the very edge of his vision, and that’s how he knew he was truly losing it.
Because sometimes, he could swear he felt Viktor’s presence. As if his partner was truly there next to him, not just like a face in the fire he saw from time to time, during his lowest points.

Then the emotions hit him full force.
He felt like he was outside of his body, floating in the cosmos of the universe, and floating with him was Jayce. Their emotions swirling around one another like shooting comets, weaving through their souls, caressing their skin, then circling tighter and tighter around them until a connection was suddenly built between their hearts.
it felt like the most natural thing in the world to have this new connection, to know what Jayce was feeling at that one moment.
