“A--angel,” Crowley groaned into the phone. “M’hurt.”
Aziraphale’s heart slammed into the back of his sternum.
“I’m coming! I’ll be right there—” he said, remembering suddenly that he didn’t know where. “How do I find you?”
There was a terrible sound stirring on the other line. Ragged, awful breathing. It scraped itself together to form the word Tadfield. Just that. Nothing else. The line had gone dead. Aziraphale’s throat constricted violently: Crowley was hurt? How could he be? Unless Hell—or Heaven—? Summary
Love is poison to any demon who feels it. Crowley's used Hell as the antidote these last six thousand years. He can't do that anymore, for reasons having to do with a certain apocalypse-that-wasn't. Things spiral helplessly from there.
(Crowley feels the weight of a new impending deadline, time marching toward his own personal end. Aziraphale frets whenever Crowley lets him and feels utterly powerless in the face of this--whatever it is. He doesn't know. Crowley won't tell him.)

Summary
Crowley loses the coin flip with Aziraphale and has to go to small town to do both of their jobs. It seems like it's going great until a guy with a grudge against demons (and a hint from Hastur) decides that Crowley needs to be exorcised.
