Viktor had stood before his altar, stamped his staff on the ground as the Hexcore pulsed, and Jayce had watched in disbelief as a third appendage rose from within Viktor's cloak, seemingly made of the same material as Viktor's augmented hands. It stretched its own fingers and bobbed beside his head.
“This is humanity's evolution, and it will be glorious.”
Jayce seeks out Viktor in Zaun in hopes of saving him, only to find his friend is too far gone. Or is he?

"How did you put it?" Viktor asked, tapping his chin, "Hextech is not going to be the only thing with blue balls?"
"I did not-"
"Oh, you absolutely did," Viktor said with a wicked grin.
“Even if I had- which I didn't- I'm not following how,” he paused and looked Viktor over again, his bright eyes lingering on spots that made Viktor's heartbeat speed up, “this is supposed to help me.”
“I've never known you to lack imagination,” Viktor positively purred, taking a risk to slide closer to the other man.
“I've never known you to wear lace."

"What exactly are you asking, Defender?" Viktor titled his head with curiosity, but without the protection of his mask, Jayce could easily read the hunger in his eyes. Or maybe Viktor wanted him to.
"Well," Jayce swallowed, watching Viktor's bright eyes tract the bob of his throat and not daring to think through his offer first in case he lost the nerve, "the kid wants breakfast. Stay for breakfast."

“Is that,” the beast begins, disturbingly even keel, and while Jayce was expecting his jaw to unhinge like a serpent’s, nothing in his flat face, or the ones at its sides, moves, “an arcane powered crossbow hammer?”
Not even a sight so unseemly can stay Jayce’s tongue about his proudest invention. “That’s right.”
The creature tilts its head, owl-like. Its joints stutter with the motion, gears misaligned and ungreased snapping in and out of place. “I commend you for your ingenuity. It is… a remarkable contraption.”
“Thank you,” he says, then blinks. “Let me show you how it works,” and with a click, the hammer splits open as three bolts shoot out in the monster’s direction.

Summary
Jayce Talis has a problem. Two of them, in fact.
Problem #1: Jayce is paired with Ekko for Heimerdinger’s capstone engineering course. But Ekko isn’t the problem here: It’s Heimerdinger’s response to their new project, which results in him confiscating Jayce’s life’s work on Hextech and taking it who knows where.
Enter Viktor: Ekko’s reclusive roommate at Zeta Omega Nu who just so happened to be Heimerdinger’s assistant until a recent falling out left them at odds. With Viktor’s help, Jayce is sure he can get back his research and achieve his Hextech dream.
Problem #2: Jayce needs to get fucked. Badly.
Enter Viktor: Ekko’s best friend who happens to be Jayce’s every fantasy brought to life. But what business does a good boy like Jayce Talis have chasing after punk boys with tattoos and bad attitudes on the verge of expulsion?
If Jayce could just find a way to talk to him, Viktor could be the solution to all of Jayce’s problems. Except…Jayce has already been texting Viktor, pretending to be someone else. Because as far as he knows, Viktor's only interested in girls.
So, make that three problems. Maybe even four.

Summary
Pre season 1 AU. It happens by chance. Self-destructive student extraordinaire Jayce Talis meets the underpaid Dean's assistant, Viktor - and he's immediately captivated. Jayce finds his eyes hypnotizing; his voice, irresistible. He quickly becomes fascinated with the man and his gentle working hands.
They are both in dire need of an outlet for stress. Viktor has something of a reputation among the student body as a merciless sadistic fiend; but thankfully, Jayce seems to find relief in pain.
Not everything proceeds as imagined. Hextech may or may not survive in one piece.

Partners, Jayce calls them. Not for the first time, Viktor wonders: Partners in what?

Or: Jayce and Viktor survive the Hexcore, a blizzard, their own bodies, sharing a bed and all the things they’re too afraid to say. Slowly, they put themselves back together— piece by stubborn piece.
