What if Bella Swan had a brother?
Seventeen-year-old Benedict James Swan is Bella's fraternal twin, but the two couldn't be more different. While Bella would rather curl up with a classic novel and keep to herself, Benedict prefers spending his days outdoors, playing sports, and soaking up the Arizona sun with a tan to prove it.
When Bella chooses to stay in Phoenix with their mother, Benedict reluctantly agrees to move to Forks and live with their estranged father, Charlie Swan—a man he hasn't spoken to since he was seven years old. Hoping to simply survive his junior year and escape the cold, Benedict instead finds himself dragged into a world of vampires, ancient rivalries, and dangerous choices.
This was never his story, it was supposed to be Bella's.

‘Carlisle,’ Charlie said, putting his pen down. ‘There’s someone sitting in that building over there, right now, selling addictive painkillers to anyone with enough cash. Monsters existed in my town a long time before you showed up. Besides, someone’s got to keep the deer population down.’
In which Carlisle grapples with shame, Charlie grapples with some very human monsters, and both of them grapple with the horror of having to take days off work.
