Armand kisses him on the mouth, as he sometimes does when he's desperate to pry out his secrets. He wants to understand why Lestat has become so attached to him, to the point of running away from home.
But Nicolas doesn't know how he won him over; his lips don't conceal an unspeakable secret.
His lips are not those of a god; he was just a boy, despised by his family for being too sensitive, a musician who fell from grace. His skin doesn't exude nectar, only black ink, like his soul."

Their lips met, and the darkness in Nicolas’s heart dissipated.
Their kisses… oh, how he loved them! How he craved Lestat's mouth! They made him feel precious and desirable as if that simple billing and cooing granted him eternal salvation.
He lost his worldly identity and ascended to heaven, feeling so blissful that he almost forgot he hadn’t yet died and gone to the afterlife.

OR: Galadriel is an intelligence agent investigating her brother's murder, Sauron has been arrested for it. When they meet, chaos ensures.

It’s been a long time since he last used his voice to create something breathtaking, but he knew that even now a part of his old self remained buried underneath the surface. So he cleared his throat and started singing an ancestral melody of healing and summoning, allowing his hands to skim lazily from Galadriel’s hairline to the tips of her curls.'

'Si sforzò di rimembrare le antiche melodie che durante la creazione di Eä aveva sentito intonare e che lui stesso aveva utilizzato anche dopo il tradimento nei confronti dei Valar, in particolare durante lo scontro con Finrond, il fratello di Galadriel. Non usava la voce per creare qualcosa di mozzafiato da tanto tempo, ma sapeva che la minuscola parte benevola sepolta nei meandri del proprio sé esisteva ancora. Così, si schiarì la gola ed intonò una melodia ancestrale di guarigione ed evocazione, lasciando che le sue mani scivolassero pigramente dall’attaccatura dei capelli di Galadriel fino alla punta.'
Ovvero, Sauron usa i suoi poteri per donare lucentezza ai capelli della sua elfa preferita.
