    Summary

Injured and unable to teleport back to the school, Gojo Satoru brings his students to the first safe place he could think of. He survives with the hesitant help of those around him and takes an unplanned trip down memory lane, bringing everyone with him. In doing so, he may or may not hatch a plan to save what’s important to him even if it means making as many enemies as he can afford to make.

(AU: canon divergent in that Getou never declared war and unleashed an army of curses, so Gojo hasn’t killed Getou, but everything up to that point remains the same.)

    Summary

Suguru Geto is experiencing a growing indifference that is slowly chipping away at him. The mantra of duty and purpose he recites to himself resemble a man trying to remember the words to a prayer he no longer believes in. He is surrounded by people, most of all Satoru, and completely, utterly alone. Eventually, he descends into someone unrecognizable. Yet he remains unable to let go of his past.

Satoru Gojo scans crowds out of habit, holds imaginary arguments with someone should be gone, and cannot explain to himself or anyone else why he still hasn't moved on. Beneath his goofy personality lies someone who has replayed every memory looking for the moment he missed, who understands in retrospect exactly what the signs meant and cannot forgive himself for how easily he looked past them.

Who is somehow given a second chance to repair the most important relationship in his life.

    Summary

Suguru was once an artist, his life painted in color and love, for his craft, and for the daughters he called his own. When tragedy shatters that life, the beauty in his work twists into something grotesque before disappearing entirely, sealed away with his grief.

    He hates painting.

    He hates art.

    He hates life.

Satoru is a prodigy by nature. His art is flawless and inevitable; yet hollow, stripped of feeling, no more than ink on a page.

A chance encounter and a discarded portrait bring their worlds crashing together, forcing them to face the emptiness they’ve been running from.

Satoru searches for the artist who taught him how to feel.
Suguru runs from the last thing he ever loved.

    Summary

"Suicide is the only truly serious philosophical question. Everything else is mere decoration."

Satoru stared at him in silence, chewing over the statement rather than reflecting on it. To him, it sounded less profound than the other man's calm tone suggested.

"Albert Camus, The Myth of Sisyphus." He added, when silence lingered too long. His gaze, locked onto the doctor's crystalline eyes, never wavered again. From his hospital bed, he could still taste the sterile stiffness of the sheets — yet not once did he complain. Not even in a whisper.

Satoru shrugged. "I'm afraid I'm not too close to that line of thought."

"Say, doc," he interrupted softly, almost immediately. "Have you ever thought about death?"

    ---

Or, Satoru, an emergency room doctor, is faced with a patient—Suguru, who had attempted to take his own life. Something stirs in his chest, a feeling he can’t quite name.

The first time Suguru dies, Satoru breaks the world to bring him back.

    After that, it gets easier.

One reset for death. Another for defection. Another for the village. Another for the train station. Another for the life where Suguru survives, smiles, and does not ask Satoru to stay.

Satoru calls it love until Suguru starts to remember.
