Silently, he thinks of what could've happened between them if he wasn't so stuck up all the time. Would Flame like him better if he was as forward like Wemmbu? Brave and serene like Jaden, if he held the same values as them, if he could help Flame grow his combat skills.
Maybe if he actually picked up a sword instead of a hoe, he'd actually have a place in Flame's hand. Cause that was just the reality, right? Flame is drawn to men who can wield maces and tridents and can actually defend themselves under a threat.
Or: what if a "friends with benefits" situation blossoms into a messy mix of feelings that both parties refuse to acknowledge and only end up hurting eachother due to it. Will they finally confront their feelings or let everything spiral into a bigger mess?

Flame felt his eyes sting then tears drip down to his cheeks, wetting his blindfold. This wasn't what he wanted for his best friend, he needed warmth, comfort and protection, whatever Flame could give, not this. Not forced down to take a bandit right Infront of him.
If only he was better, only if he was smart enough to not leave Lomedy at home completely defenceless to any outsider. Flame could only watch the assault on his best friend, watch his own best friend, his lover get assaulted by a stranger.
Tl;dr: Flame fails to protect his best friend. He's forrced to watch the consequences of his actions.

“Then sure, I could be a VIP in your little hustle,” Swight smirked. Flame felt like a heavy weight was lifted from his chest, he let out a small nod as the blush from his cheeks subside the tiniest bit. Good, Swight was actually down for this, that's nice to know.
Or; Flame wants Swight to be his VIP guest for his 200k subscriber special, and it's not his YouTube channel.

After a long, emotionally taxing few days in the Mist, Flame and Lomedy are home again. Safe and sound.
And, well, Flame did promise Lomedy they'd do something he wanted to do soon. He kind of owes it to him, no?
Except it's all gone wrong because Flame is stupid and can't forgive himself for anything ever and he still hasn't actually processed the death-turned-not-death of his best friend and also he's Flame so he's shite at communicating or even just, like, recognising his own feelings.
