Steve and Sam finally find Bucky. It's almost like he came to them. The poor guy arrived wounded, confused, and missing memories. They sort of have a plan for what to do now that they have him, but it's hard to enact a plan when no one could agree to all of its steps.
Hydra lucked into finding a soldier who secretly had DID. It's not so lucky for the system who was captured by them.

This fic had me screaming (positive) at some of the turns it takes! And as someone who has lost a family member before, I found the exploration of grief to be painfully relatable.
The time travel element gave the story a super compelling sense of dramatic irony; its the kind of story that is difficult to do outside of fanfiction. I also loved the exploration of how Mike was effected by his nondeath, the character relationships, and everything to do with plushie!Charlie!

Dissociative Identity Disorder. Those three words stared at him from the page, almost angry and writhing. Almost like they were something to be afraid of. He’d read the passage about five times, now, and yeah, it was wordy as hell, but… Fuck, it made sense.
And he wasn’t sure that he liked it.
It meant that the Winter Soldier was still in there. Maybe not in the same way, but it still… felt like the Soldier. In some way. That was what scared him.

As the Avengers slowly grow closer to each other, they begin to notice some oddities about their resident gamma expert, oddities that he is not even aware of.
Prompt from tumblr user pushingcrazies: What if Bruce also had some of the more traditional (if there is any such thing) DID personality types/archetypes. Obviously the Hulk is the Protector Archetype. What if Bruce also had a child personality, or a punk personality, or….I dunno, I’m trying to think back to my psychology class and when I used to watch United States of Tara, but I’m coming up blank on some of the more common personality archetypes. But you know what I mean.
And, like, thanks to the Gamma radiation, each personality type would manifest itself in a physical variation of Bruce.

Summary

Four years pass before a chain of events causes his path to cross with that of the despondent, unfulfilled fake-psychic-turned-fake-investigator, Arataka Reigen. One of my favorite stories. Not just in terms of fanfic, but in general. I'm not exaggerating when I say that reading about Reigen and Mob healing together helped me repair some of my own wounds. I valued myself less before I read this back in 2018.
It's not finished, and it probably never will be. But there's a beauty in unfinished things and I'm so grateful that we got as many chapters as we did. It also ends on a pretty stressful note, and is a pretty stressful story throughout. I know the author got a lot of undeserved flack from people who didn't understand, but the struggling and the blood is a big part of what makes this story valuable. Wounds that need exceptional care are also exceptionally painful. And reading about someone else stitching up their deep gashes almost feels like sewing up your own. It only makes sense. We need difficult, rewarding stories.
The author is also a wonderful writer and plotter, and though I haven't read their other fics (I don't know much about BNHA but I love SU, I should really read them), I'm sure they're great too. There are so many scenes in the fic that stick with me- Reigen catching the blade, Mob sitting in the apartment while Reigen takes out the garbage, Ritsu not being able to imagine what his brother must look like now that years have past- and I haven't ready any other fics who's payoffs are nearly as satisfying.
I swear this isn't a vie for you to revive this story and I hope my comments don't put any undue pressure on you. This is purely a thank you! Your fic was a turning point for my mental health, and helped me as I headed into one of the hardest years I've had yet. I really cherish it!
