Summary
Chancellor Anakin Skywalker is not your typical Chancellor of the Republic.
He's a Jedi, his son is a Jedi, he hates politics, and he holds the record for assassination attempts between fighting the remains of Palpatine's fascist regime (the emergency powers certainly helps with that), busting monopolies and slave trafficking rings, and wrangling the Senate into fighting for the interests of their people (because they're going to pass a Clone's rights bill, an anti-slavery bill that actually works, and a general social welfare bill and make it unrepealable and unable to be overturned if that's the only thing he accomplishes in his tenure).
All that to say is that, he's busy and barely has time for his family.
But when his wife asks to carve out some time to talk, the galaxy can wait barring another catastrophe like Palpatine coming back from the dead and trying to groom his son into being his apprentice again. For Force's sake, he hopes NEVER. But if it does happen, hopefully it can wait another two decades because that would certainly be hard to juggle while parenting a minor child again.

Summary
In this world, Anakin Skywalker isn’t born a slave and has two loving parents who he will never be traumatically torn away from. But his friends, his community, the people he cares about, his father’s people, his people. They were slaves. And he would grow up just as angry and indignant at the injustice and unkindness as his father did in another universe.
When he found out what a Jedi was and what they did, he made his choice. When the Jedi came, he would go with them. He’d become the most powerful Jedi in the galaxy. And then he’d come back home to Mom and Dad and free all the slaves.
(Dad was, unfortunately, going to beat him to it, much to Anakin’s dismay. At least, on Tatooine.)
Or, alternatively, Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano time/dimension/universe travel and end up the proud parents of Anakin Skywalker. Don't ask them how. It just happened.
