Zhou Zishu came into this marriage expecting a monster because that's what the taizi told him. But so far this prince has not been that. He hasn't strangled Zhou Zishu in his sleep. He hasn't even cursed him even though he's clearly unhappy about the arrangement. And Zhou Zishu isn't afraid of monsters, he has faced them all. This prince just doesn't feel like one.
In which Wen Kexing and Zhou Zishu fall into a marriage, Jin Wang wants to be the emperor, the emperor is oblivious, and Beiyuan is far away.

Drunk Like a Dream wafts heavy and intoxicating in the air, but it doesn’t quell the stomach-drop that Wen Kexing can feel coming. There’s no way something is wrong with A-Xu. They’ve just gotten his home back! Sure, Four Seasons Manor could use some cleaning up, A-Xu could use some livelihood in it to keep those ghosts out of his eyes, but they’re here. Nothing could possibly be wrong, right?
It doesn’t matter. Wen Kexing won’t be getting back to sleep. He’ll go check on A-Xu. He’ll say he’s worried about the Seven Nails giving him trouble, and he’ll flirt shamelessly, and he’ll go back to bed."Spoiler, he doesn't get to go back to bed because Zhou Zishu is off in the woods trying to die in the quiet of a lightning-hollow tree.

During the search Wen Ke Xing’s mind starts wandering. The fear that he might’ve lost his husband scares him more than he would like to admit. When they find Zhou Zishu, he is exhausted, but alive. Wen Ke Xing realizes that his fears were very close to becoming reality.

Summary
Coming down from the mountain with Wen Kexing, Zhou Zishu is faced with a new life he never planned to have. The manor has been rebuilt, disciples mill about within the confines of its walls, and he and Wen Kexing are brought in as if nothing had ever happened.
It's hard to believe this is all real; impossible to think he deserves it.
Just as things within the sect are becoming settled, something strange begins to happen to him. Each strange incident has him lose one of his senses seemingly randomly for a short period of time, and no matter how he thinks, he can't figure out what could be causing this. Has their cultivation somehow backfired? Was there something they hadn't considered?
Unable and unwilling, Zhou Zishu endures and hides each incident as much as he can.

A whistleblower approaches Zhou Zishu's company and spoils Mo Huaiyang's plans. This gives them time to prepare for defense. With the Seven Nails of Torment out of his body, Zhou Zishu throws caution out into the wind. And if that meant reviving a part of his past he thought he would never return to, then so be it. Damn the consequences. No one is dying on his watch.

To right the wrongs he has caused.
Finding himself back on the day of one of his greatest regrets, the day he foolishly convinced his partner to let Mo Huaiyang into the Ghost Valley, Zhou Zishu is determined to change things. Wen Kexing will not die this time. Not if he can help it. No one will die. At least, not before him.

Summary
Wen Kexing destroyed the key to the armory before putting his plans into action. It was the last memento from his parents, but it was also the very thing that had caused them to be targeted. With the key gone and the entirety of the jianghu nonethewiser, their scrambling to get the pieces of the glazed armor would only serve as an ironic twist. The perfect extra side to the show Wen Kexing was going to enjoy. They would fight and kill each other for nothing more than hapless greed, realizing only too late it was all for naught.
Or so he had planned.
Finding out the only way to save A-Xu involves using something within the armory years after he had destroyed the key changes everything.
