“I can't stand love stories.” Yang said looking, “All they do is keep people desperately searching for something they'll never find.”
“Are you implying that you don't think love is real?” Blake stopped sifting through her papers and looked at her.
“It's not real. Love is just another thing made up to keep stories interesting, like magic and aliens and stuff.” The black haired girl looked at her with an unreadable expression. There was a light behind her eyes that made Yang nervous. She felt like she had said something wrong, but she wasn’t going to back down. She had seen too many hearts broken and too many messy ends. She knew better than anyone. “I’m just being realistic.” Yang leaned back in her chair, “You should get it, you don’t seem that naive.”
“I don’t.” Yang wasn’t sure which part she was responding to, Blake had said it so softly she wasn’t even sure that it was directed at her.
