Louis hums. “True. Doesn’t mean it wouldn’t still be a risk for me to lend you a hand though. Forgive me detective, but you haven’t exactly given me many reasons to trust you over the years.”
Harry nods. He expected that response.
“No, but if you did help me, I would owe you a great debt.”
And there it is again, that wicked smile that has shivers shooting down Harry’s spine.
Of fear or excitement, Harry’s not entirely sure. And he really doesn’t want to think too hard about it.
“That is an intriguing idea.” Louis grins, his blue eyes dragging meaningfully over Harry’s face. “I must say, you would look awfully pretty in my pocket.”
(Or the one where detective Harry Styles is being framed for a high profile murder. Ironically, the only person that can seem to help him is his sworn enemy, and London’s most ruthless mob boss: Louis Tomlinson).

Louis scoffs. “Pretty sure if it needs that much spicing…” He uses his fingers to put air quotes around the last word. “Then your relationship is already doomed.”
Harry clicks his tongue disdainfully. “Of course you’re not mature enough to understand something so evolved. You probably wouldn’t last three dates.”
(Or the one where Louis and Harry are frenemies, but a slightly tipsy bet has them doing a challenge that involves going on twenty-six consecutive dates leading up to Christmas Day. Will they kill each other, or find out they have more in common than they thought?)

“Oh, that’s Nick Grimshaw.” Liam offers. “Harry’s known him for ages. Literally.”

He’s lying on his back, and the walls that seem to be made out of wooden planks have only left just enough space for his shoulders to fit. In fact, he’s pretty sure there are wood planks both below and above him, leaving barely any space. Louis frowns. Is he in a crawl space or summat?

A coffin.
“Bloody hell.” Louis spits out angrily.
“About time you woke up.” Comes a deep gravelly voice from disturbingly close. Just then, Louis realizes there’s a warm weight atop him.
(Or the one where vampire Louis thinks there couldn’t be anything worse than being buried alive. That is until he realizes his obnoxious neighbor Harry has been buried with him.)

Louis watches with rapt attention as Pedro easily lifts his leg and effortlessly straddles the bike before leaning down and clipping his own cycling shoes into the pedals.
It was decidedly a lot more graceful than Louis had done it, but that’s to be expected, Pedro obviously has a lot more experience.
And from there, Louis can’t help the way his brain wonders if perhaps Pedro has experience straddling other things as well.
Jesus.
The bloody class hasn’t even started yet and Louis can already feel his heart racing in his chest.
(Or the one where Louis is a professional footballer sidelined temporarily by a knee injury. His trainer suggests he try indoor cycling to build his strength back. Surprisingly the class is not as awful as Louis expected, but the gorgeous and captivating instructor named Pedro might have something to do with that).

Summary
It’s not that Louis is trying to lie to his friends’ and family. It’s just that saying he’s fine is simpler, and a lot less messy.
Not that he’s in emotional turmoil or anything. Sometimes he just mourns what possibly could have been, that’s all.
Which is probably why, as crazy as it sounds, writing fanfic about himself feels so cathartic. He can create his own second little universe where everything worked out. He can craft his own happy ending.
(Or the one where Louis has a secret AO3 account he uses to write Larry fanfiction. He never publishes anything without feedback from his trusty beta, an anonymous user he met through Tumblr that simply goes by H. But when he runs into Harry again after years of silence, it turns out they still might have more in common than they realized).

Louis does as instructed.

Louis cracks an eye open. Admittedly his experience with meditation is limited solely to the last five minutes, but he’s pretty sure it isn’t supposed to sound this erotic.
Then again, maybe it’s just that every word that falls out of Harry’s stupidly pink lips ends up somehow sounding dirty.

Harry visibly winces, but when he turns around Louis can see the anger clear on the alpha’s perfect face.
“Do you think I wanted to do that?” Harry asks. “You were about to drop Louis.”

Of course there is no such sign, instead there’s just elegant gold lettering that reads: The Suite Spot.
Harry had rolled his eyes when he’d first read that name, but he’s always been a sucker for a good pun. ‘A luxury hotel experience that will have you coming again and again’ the website had read.
It felt a little too on the nose, but then again, Harry’s the one that sought out the website in the first place so who’s he to judge?
(Or the one where Harry is still reeling and heartbroken after discovering his fiancé has been cheating on him. So in a moment of desperation, he decides to spend the weekend at a self-pleasure hotel. As it turns out, the gorgeous blue eyed man at the front desk is more than willing to help distract him).
