Summary
It was a distress signal. Something went wrong on a mission and the Arbiter's paying the price, his crew suffering alongside him as his painful symptoms worsen. Master Chief John-117 is pretty fucking concerned, all things considered: it's been a journey learning to like, then love, the gentle heart behind rigid alien training and iconic silver armor. So of course he'd hurry to his lover's side to do whatever he can to help him out of this predicament.
He just wishes the solution to this predicament didn't have to be so perverted. Ah, it's a downside to having a boyfriend with alien biology, isn't it? And he's about to learn firsthand the difference between having sex with Thel and having sex with Thel during a rut.

All Asha of the Emperor's Children wanted to do was get drunk and maybe get laid. He figured he'd nip down to the shithole planet, go to a bar, pick up his boyfriend of the weekend, and have a grand old time. Apparently, the Night Lords have other plans. They want access to a certain shipyard and have decided that Asha's going to be the one who wrangles the deal. Never mind that Asha's not even in that warband or that he doesn't have anything Lucius the Eternal wants. When he's given two slaves - a Loyalist Astartes named Ruslan and a terrified baseline human called Caspian - Asha knows he's fucked (and not in the fun way, either).
Somehow, he's got to get all of them through this and convince an asshole loyalist to cooperate? Please? So they don't wind up rotting in a carcass pit or something even worse?
Yeah, that'll happen when pigs grow wings and fart rainbows.

Summary
Everyone was product of their environment. While the Emperor's plan for the primarch was to be raised as alphas. The 13th was raised with careful and kind hands. Thus he became an omega, most would say it was a weakness. But omegas in Macragge were many things and each one was taught how to use their biology to their advantage.
However trying to not disappoint the emperor he plays the beta role, but that is easier said than done when his brothers are closing in on him after helping out Angron.
