Haymitch Abernathy has given the fuck up. Nobody can blame him, really - it's been twenty-four years since his miraculous Quarter Quell victory, and District Twelve has seen absolutely nothing like it in the years since. For some reason, he's still here, stubbornly clinging onto his somewhat miserable existence.
Well. Until two utterly audacious, idiot tributes show up in his life, upending it completely...and maybe even for the better?
Here's The Hunger Games, told entirely from the perspective of Haymitch Abernathy. It will follow the events of the trilogy as closely as possible, and much of the dialogue will be pulled straight from the books.

Summary
"I see great things in our future, kid. Great things..."
Ok, so I started out writing an expanded backstory for Uncharted 3 (in which Sully has a brand new apprentice, but hasn't factored in the fact that there's a second Drake brother to deal with...) and somehow it morphed into an epic novel-length behemoth tracking Sully's perspective all the way from Cartegena to the end of UC4. Because why not write 100k about these dorks and their angst-ridden found family? I mean, who needs a life?
[P.S. We're currently heading into UC3 proper and my update schedule is... not a schedule. There will be hiatuses, but I promise I'll reach the epilogue eventually.]
[P.P.S. This originally follows on from a reference to Sam ending up in a Cartegenian jail in Chapter 2 of 'To Baby Drake' - you might wanna read it first but it's not essential.]
