  2. Summary

A series of canon-divergent moments between Henry and Hans, where first kisses happen not just once – but again, and again, and again.

From bitter arguments to moonlit duels, from bruised egos to quiet recognitions – this collection explores what could have been, if two young men from different worlds had chosen, just once, to lean closer instead of looking away.

We all know they were made for each other.

And this will explore every single moment as to how it could have been.

    Summary

In the steam-laced hush of a bathhouse, Hans Capon finds himself teetering at the edge of something he was never meant to name. Between the heat, the wounds, the silence, and the ache of withheld confessions, the heir of Rattay and his blacksmith-squire discover that desire, once spoken—even in the quietest breath—can never quite be taken back.

A nightingale has begun to sing, and neither man can pretend not to hear it.

    Summary

Hans had to hear of it second hand.

Apparently, his squire had up and gotten himself involved with the Kuttenberg blacksmith guild and taken on an old forge of all things. The young lord did find it odd how often he woke to the bed opposite him empty only a week after Suchdol, but he hadn't expected Henry to have gotten himself so engrossed in one of the Burgher guilds of the local city.

Overhearing rumors of Henry taking on a ruin, Hans is surprised by not only finding a forge worthy of a master blacksmith, but also Henry entertaining his customers in ways that sound entirely too lewd.

Of course, upon realizing that it was his own perverseness tainting an overheard customer, Sir Hans makes a decision to request Kuttenburg's newest master blacksmith to show him blacksmithing in a way that could entertain even a noble such as himself. Like that of what he thought he was overhearing. Up close and personal, but with no labor done on his part.

Hans had a feeling that he was going to Hell for watching the blacksmith's craft with such lewd eyes alone. But Henry more than manages to teach him how to enjoy being the metal worked over his furnace and anvil instead.

    Summary

Husband, he thought. Wife, even, should it please you.

He reaches out a hand, grabbing the crown and placing it atop Hans' head. It was a broken, misshapen thing now, but it looked nothing less than regal on him.

"Yours." He settles on, as if it were any less impossible.

Just a single summer day, shared between a lord and his squire.

OR: A series of vignettes following a single day in the life of Hansry where the boys are forced to confront their lingering anxieties about the future that ends with Henry getting his back blown out (carefully and with lots of love)

    Summary

Henry and Hans were set to marry before the former had even been born. The first meeting of six-year-old Henry and nine-year-old Hans didn’t go as planned, and so did the rest of their encounters during summers throughout the years - the two simply hated each other. Nothing could possibly make them tolerate each other or, God forbid, fall in love.

    Could it?

The story is based on the song and the clip “This is my idea” from the movie The Swan Princess.
