Summary
Quen felt peculiar up on the dais, flanked by stags and lions and wolves.
The Usurper had once been a formidable man, with blazing eyes and a massive war hammer. Now, he was just a red-faced fat man, a pathetic drunk who ate as gracefully as a half-starved hog.
His Queen seemed to be a perpetually unhappy woman. Cersei Lannister was as beautiful as the singers said, though the woman had all the warmth of a dead fish.
She might have done well in the north, Quen thought, almost pitying.
(Or: The gods in their blind malice give Theon the feeble body of a woman.)

Summary
Kristen stared at the newspaper her mother had laid out on the table. On the front page was an article about a diplomatic scandal and rumors of a war brewing. Kristen didn’t pay attention to any of that. Her gaze was firmly locked on the picture that accompanied the article.
Two elven girls looked back at her. They were surrounded by people, reporters or lawyers or something, but they were the main focus of the image.
And they looked so scared.
***
Right after Adaine fails her Hudol tests Aelwyn reports their parents to the police.
This causes them to loose guardianship of their daughters and the Abernant sisters are placed in the care of a human family that worships Helio.

Summary
Despite being born into a long line of well-respected and aristocratic British witches, the last few years of Delila Cavendish's life has been far from fair. Between loss, grief and a chronic magical illness, the second youngest heir to the House of Cavendish has willingly lived in the shadow of her older and more accomplished twin sister in favour of seclusion, taking slithers of comfort in one day upholding a promise from the past.
Three years on, a final invitation from Diana to enrol at the prestigious Luna Nova Academy pushes Delila to take the right steps towards not only saving her family's future from the world's magical decline, but also rekindling her strained relationship with her sister. However, the intricacies of boarding school life and the mysterious side effects of her illness are intent on making those feats hard to achieve. And then there's new student Atsuko 'Akko' Kagari, whose self-proclaimed rivalry with Diana and persistent troublemaking somehow manages to make Delila's life more difficult.
Delila doesn't like Akko. At best, she tolerates her. So, why is she insistent on supporting her struggling classmate? And why is she so curious about that magic staff Akko has in her possession?

The Bad Kids experience a few changes to their story, ones that seem to have changed things for the better, at least on the surface.
